Reading - "Because of Winn-Dixie"
This week students will watch the movie, "Because of Winn-Dixie." Students will create a venn diagram to compare and contrast the video and novel to find the similarities and differences of the plot and characters.
Social Studies - "Henry's Freedom Box"
This week, students will read the story, "Henry's Freedom Box" about Henry "Box" Brown. Henry Brown was a slave who mailed himself to freedom in the north.
Students will continue to learn about the Southeast Region including the land & water, climate, products and resources.
Math - 4.NF.3cd - Adding & Subtracting Mixed Numbers
This week, students will continue to problem solve by adding and subtracting mixed numbers and improper fractions with like denominators.
Just a reminder, our Underground Railroad field trip is tomorrow, Tuesday, 11/24. It is an outdoor field trip. The weather is supposed to be cold. Please be sure that your child dresses warmly to school (hat, gloves, scarf, winter jacket). Also, it is a no uniform day for the students going on the trip.
